iphone vr review

inexpensive but convincing mobile vr is hardto come by, however this space is moving very quickly. this is anand and welcome to my review ofthe vr one plus. looking around the device we can see it’smostly made of plastic, with a clear plastic window on the front.

iphone vr review

iphone vr review, behind which is the cradle that pops out thatholds the smartphone. around the back are the straps that hold theheadset on as well as foam padding to make the experience comfortable. you also get a glimpse of the carl zeiss lensesthat allow your eyes to focus on your phone

screen so close up. i personally think it looks quite slick, butlet me know what you think in the comments. that’s the major selling point of this headsetover others, good lenses mean that the screen looks sharper with less chromatic aberration,in other words it stops colours from each pixel from separating out. but how well does it work? so to test it out i had a choice of eitherusing an iphone 7 or the google pixel, i went with the pixel because of it’s much higherpixel density, which is extremely important for vr, as the screen is literally an inchfrom your face.

click in the top right to see my full reviewof the google pixel. when putting the phone into the cradle youneed to make sure it’s aligned directly in the middle, so near the bottom of the volumerocker in this case, so each lens is centred to its side of the screen, otherwise you’llsee distortion. it takes a few minutes at first to find thesweet spot when you first get the device, however after that it’s much easier. putting the headset on the fit is quite comfortable, and tightening the straps on the back and top is essential. with proper alignment the image lines up perfectlyand the screen comes across clear, the zeiss

lenses are really doing their job. moving your head quickly from side to sidedoes cause a little bit of movement of the headset, but it’s within reason and nota huge issue. i used the headset for a good few hours, andafter a while it does get uncomfortable, your face feels quite warm, but this is an issuewhich almost all vr headsets have and is not unique to this one. weight plays a big part in this and havinga plastic casing is likely not the best material for creating light weight vr experiences. but for short half an hour sessions of useit’s fine.

overall, this is a solid headset, you paya small premium over the cardboard and daydream headsets for the zeiss lenses, they do theirjob very well if you can align the phone right. i would have liked it to be a little lighterlike the google daydream. thank you for watching, if you enjoyed thisvideo hit that like button and subscribe for more tech videos in the future. that’s all for now, so i’ll see you inthe next one. bye.
